Payment Methods

We charge everything in Japanese Yen (JPY).

PayPal

For Orders

PayPal payments for orders use an authorization and capture system.

When you make a payment, you are authorizing us to take up to the payment amount. The funds are not taken at this stage.

Later, the payment is captured (taken). We capture exactly what you should be charged for.

For example, if an item in an order could not be purchased, or if you entered the wrong item value, we will fix the amount and capture only what should be charged.

For Shipping

PayPal payments for shipping are captured directly.

Wise

Wise uses the mid-market exchange rate. This is the rate you see on Google.

We provide a 2% discount for Wise payments.

Refunds

Refund Method

For most PayPal order payments, there is nothing to refund because we capture only the actual amount.
The non-captured portion is returned to your Paypal account in a few days.

However, there are cases where an order needs to be cancelled after payment capture.
This is a very unlikely scenario because we generally capture your payment after purchase (and for high value items, after the items are delivered).

However, if it does, there can be a big loss due to Paypal’s conversion rate. Even if we issue a 100% refund on our side, you will experience about a 7% loss from what was paid (PayPal uses 3.7% above/below the actual exchange rate for payment/refund).

Lunarcat can provide two options in this case:

Wise Refunds

If there is anything to refund, refunds will be processed in one day after purchae.

For refund amounts over ¥10,000, we will contact you for your Wisetag.
The Wisetag is necessary to refund into your Wise account.

For refund amounts below ¥10,000, we will issue refunds as Lunarcat points without further notice.
Please contact us with your Wisetag to receive refunds to your Wise account.
