How to Order

All orders are accepted through the Order Form.

Lunarcat can ship a lot of items that other proxies refuse, but we cannot ship everything (see what we can and cannot ship).

Supported Payment Methods

  • PayPal (includes credit/debit card)

    * Wise payments receive a 2% discount.

Order Type

Lunarcat purchases items from any website.

Auctions

For auctions, we require you to pay for your maximum bid upfront before making the bid.
We will initially bid at 50% of your maximum bid, and then increase the bid gradually if a competitor overbids the current one.
For Yahoo auctions, we will use the sniper bid to bid for your items.
Based on the winning bid amount, any excess payments will be refunded within 24 hours.

Fee

  • At least ¥600 will be charged for a single order.

    * An order can include multiple items.

  • Fees are calculated based on the item price and your user tier (» View User Tiers).

    * The item price includes the domestic shipping cost.

    Then the rates are discounted to 12.5% (¥50000~¥100000), 10% (¥100000~¥200000), 9% (¥200000~¥300000), 8% (¥300000~¥400000), and 7% (¥400000~¥500000).

    * Example: Luna Basic IV user (14.2% Tier Rate) purchases a ¥280000 item
    Lunarcat Fees = 50000*14.2% + (100000-50000)*12.5% + (200000-100000)*10% + (280000-200000)*9% = ¥30550

FAQ
What happens if you can't buy my items?

We will refund for any unpurchased items and associated fees.

I don't know the exact price of the item I would like to get.

If the cost of the item is unknown, a rough estimate is fine. The final costs may be adjusted (+/-) afterwards.

The other proxy services charge only ¥500 for my orders. Why are your fees a percentage?

Merchants are charged a % of the transaction cost by the payment gateways. The flat fee proxies are not an exception, and all these costs are marked up into the exchange rate. While we are expensive compared to the larger proxy companies, the fees in reality do not differ so much.

Free Storage Period

Free storage periods are provided per your user tier.

After the timer expires, ¥1,500 will be charged to your parcel every 30 days.

We may consolidate your items into parcels to keep things manageable.

This will not affect the packing fee for shipping, which will be determined based on the number of final parcels.

Prepare to Ship

Once you decide to ship, please select the items from Mypage and hit the "Prepare to Ship" button.

Packing

If your item does not need a repack, the packing fee is not charged.

If your item needs a consolidation or a repack, we will pack your items using the most appropriate sized box and with necessary protection.

In most cases, we will repack items using the following boxes.

  • 60 size (26*21*12cm; 149g)
  • 90 size (39*29*18cm; 272g) *largest box that can be sent with International ePacket Light
  • 120 size (51*41*24cm; 618g)

Customs Declaration

Customers are allowed to complete the declaration on their own, or pay us to do the declaration.

Even if you self declare, we may intervene and charge for this service if we believe your declaration will result in a customs delay.

Customers are not allowed to do declarations for items that fall in some special categories (⚠).

Declaration may be skipped for domestic shipping.

Add-on fees

If applicable, the following fees will be charged together with payment for shipping.

  • Packing & Consolidation: ¥500 per resulting parcel i
  • Special packing: ¥1,000 i
  • Vacuum packing: ¥1,000 i
  • Customs Declaration Service: ¥500 per 10 item entry.
  • Permit that can be obtained online: ¥3,000 per permit i
  • Significant Modification: ¥2,000 per item i
  • Plants quarantine: ¥20,000 (up to 10 plants) i

Shipping Stage

Parcels that have been processed through "Prepare to Ship" in the storage tab can be shipped. Once you paid for the shipment, we will prepare the shipping label and update the tracking information. All of our shipping options are tracked.

Lunarcat Insurance Insured

Lunarcat is not liable for any event that occurs after shipping.

However, Lunarcat will compensate for damages that occur during shipment if you opt in for the Lunarcat Insurance.

Insured parcels will be marked as Insured in your Mypage.

Refunds will be granted up to the declared value of the affected item(s) based on the extent of damage.

*Declared value refers to the total value of items declared in the customs declaration (Storage > Prepare to Ship).

When are parcels shipped out?

Parcels are shipped by the next business day after payment is received.

Payments received after 8PM (GMT +9) will be treated as received on the next day.

For example, if payment is received on Monday 9PM, we will treat as the payment was received on Tuesday. In such case, the parcel will be shipped out by Wednesday.

Shipping Methods

There are length and size limits of the parcels that can be sent.
For convenience, we will denote the parcels' 3 sides as W (width) / D (depth) / H (height).

Japan Post's rate differs per zone.

  • Zone 1: China, South Korea, Taiwan
  • Zone 2: Rest of Asia
  • Zone 3: Oceania, Canada, Mexico, Middle East, Europe
  • Zone 4: United States (including Guam)

    Japan Post has currently suspended services to the US with a few exceptions. See "Printed Matter" for details.

  • Zone 5: Central/South America (excluding Mexico) & Africa
EMS

EMS is a fast international mail service to over 120 countries worldwide.
